Ouch! My nail fell off. How long will it grow back?

The nail in my left pinky fell. :( How long will it grow back? The pain is throbbing too, and seems to feel warmer compared to the rest. Why is this?Ouch! My nail fell off. How long will it grow back?
Fingernails grow at the rate of 1/8th of an inch a month. Depending on why your nail came off, i'm guessing because of some trauma... will depend on how long it takes to heal and begin growing again. it'll prob take about a week to grow back. until then, put some neosporin %26amp; a bandaid over it to protect it :)
