What to do if you cut a dogs nail too short and it is bleeding?

If you have a petsmart or petco close you could go and buy some kwik stop powder or just put direct pressure on it with a paper towel. Next time you cut the nails make sure you have some kwik stop in the house. What to do if you cut a dogs nail too short and it is bleeding?
You can buy styptic powder at the pet store... This will help to clot the bleeding. The best thing you can do is be very cautious when cutting nails. Also, maybe invest in Pedi-paws.. It takes longer, but it's much safer than regular nail clippers. Good luck! What to do if you cut a dogs nail too short and it is bleeding?
They sell powder to stop the bleeding called styptic powder to stop the bleeding, but if you don't have any and need a quick fix... baking soda, baking powder, flour... anything with that consistency will clot the vain!
If you dont have a septic stick, pack it with flour or sugar. This will work unless you cut way up in the vein. If it does keep bleeding, take it to the vet.
Roll up a small ball of bread and stick it on there. It'll stop the bleeding so the blood can clot, and if your dog winds up eating it, it wont be harmful.
Put some flour into a bowl and put the dogs nail into it so the flour is over the nail where it is bleeding. Hope this helps! it did on my dog!
Leave it alone and it will very probably stop bleeding within 10 minutes all by itself. Most of them stop much sooner than that. If it doesn't, call a vet.
wash the foot, put vaseline on it, wrap the foot for about two-six days. remove wrap and let nail dry out he will limp for a few weeks but he'll be alright.
Put flour on it
Take it to a vet fast! You cut the quick which is a sensitive bunch of nerves and skin under the nails, this needs attention IMMEDIATLY.
umm, nothing you can do..

Just next time, try not to cut them short.
