That ';bruise'; is probably dried blood. You may've slammed your finger in a door of something by accident and that blood will clot on the surface underneath the nail. Are you sure it is a bruise? If you are African American, this is a common place to get something called Acral Lentiginous Melanoma, a type of skin cancer. Not trying to scare you. If you smashed your nail, its probably a bruise.
