How is it like free-firing a bullet thats outside of a gun/chamber. i.e. jst vice-gripin it an nail the charge?

The brass will fly in all directions like shrapnel. It's not a real safe or smart thing to do, I was young and dumb once.

It will feel like you burned the hell out of your hands. The business of shrapnel doesn't fly, except that the primer will fly somewhere, hopefully not in your eye. As soon as the pressure is relieved by the primer and bullet leaving the case, it will spew fire all about. That is not something you should do. You'll burn yourself, and burn the place down!

You would be crazy if you tried it. The shel case will explode possibly taking out an eye, blowing off a finger etc. No way to control where the bullet is going, may come back and hit you or may hit some poor soul a half mile away
the bullet will fly in any direction it wants posibly out and ricoche into u , the brass caing will exlopde and send fragments into u

basicly not a good idea
Exactly how stupid are you?????? This would be a great way to hurt or kill you and anyone near you.

It may not be proper calling this person stupid but if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, its a duck.
It's like attempted suicide.
When the powder detonates and there is no chamber to constrain case expansion, the brass will most likely shred and small pieces of shrapnel will go flying at incredible speeds. The projectile, with no barrel to develop direction, rifling and back pressure to develop speed will just tumble off in some random direction. The vice grips would be ripped from your hands from the explosive forces at work. You would most likely wind up with a loud ringing in your ears, bent over gripping your hands in pain and hopefully without pieces of the exploded brass embedded somewhere on your person.

Short answer: Don't try it - it's stupid!
Not safe, smart, or very effective.- About like a large fire-cracker with

the possibility of shrapnel.

Without a barrel, chamber, and breach to confine it the cartridge will

bulge, maybe split, the bullet will pop out medium hard, and the primer,

(maybe the most dangerous part), may fly out quite fast.

You're gonna do it anyway aren't you?

At the very least, wear eye protection, heavy gloves, and thick clothing.
people that do that are eligible for the Darwin award. Please we have to weed out the stupid ones somehow!!
Extremely dangerous and should never be done. It could KILL you or any innocent bystanders. Don't do it.
